Mars Snackfood has revealed new additions to its impulse ice cream range for 2008.
The company will be introducing the Galaxy Vanilla & Chocolate Temptation cone, said to be mainly aimed at women, plus the Starburst Smoothie ice lolly in Exotic Fruits and Berry Blast flavours which contain 30 per cent real fruit.
Also due for launch later this year are Galaxy Ice Cream Minis, nine individually wrapped mini bars in a choice of Vanilla Heaven, Caramel Craving and Chocolate Temptation flavours.
The company's confectionery sector will see the arrival in 2008 of Starburst Twisted, two fruit flavoured chews twisted together. Choices include Strawberry & Lime, Cherry & Lemon and Blueberry & Banana.
Elsewhere, Mars has announced a new commitment to the environment called Mars on Earth.
This is a six point plan setting out targets relating to waste, water, transport, energy, its Associates and packaging.
The targets are:
- Waste : zero waste to landfill by 2011
- Water and Transport : Co2 emissions cut by 30 per cent by 2012
- Energy : Co2 cut by 20 per cent by 2020
- Associates : 25 per cent cut in office waste by 2010
- Packaging : 10 per cent reduction in packaging by 2010
