Chartered Insurance Broker, Independents, which has specialised in insuring gyms for nearly 15 years, has produced the first ever risk management guide specifically aimed at the gym sector.
Joe Ryan, managing director of RDHS, has provided consultancy throughout the guide’s development. He states, “I was really excited to work with Independents on this project. In my 22 years in the leisure sector I have not come across a guide of this nature, which helps operators to consider many of the key risks facing them and how to deal with them.”
The guide aims to provide specialist advice in a highly readable, jargon-free style. It covers all the essential areas gyms need to consider such as induction training, fire safety, first aid and issues around unmanned and 24-hour gyms.
Independents has also drawn on the experience of arranging insurance for more than 350 gyms and health clubs to incorporate claims examples and practical application of the many risk management measures recommended.
The guide will be available to existing clients from April and Independents is also offering a copy to anyone now obtaining an insurance quotation.
